The Montfort and Massawippi Houses are early projects designed by Gavin Affleck that pre-date the founding of Affleck de la Riva.
Influenced by the ideas of Rudolf Steiner and Dutch Expressionist architecture, these two houses explore the potential of wood construction to create organic forms. Stretched and faceted over a free assembly of interior spaces, the wood skins of these buildings express themselves as flowing, organic forms rising and falling in response to the land.
